21. - 28. October 2013
The students were welcomed in The Grammar School, Nicosia, where most of the events took place later on.
Each delegation presented their school, country and local problems (Such as problems of young people and children) to the others. Young people live in various countries, but the problems were the same everywhere. (Drugs, alcohol, bullying, lack of interest from parents' side, bad economical conditions and other) After getting to know each other better, we proceeded with the project, splitting into three working teams.
The first team was discussing the problems we presented, and later recorded a video letter for Mrs. Viviane Reding, where students spoke about the problems they just discussed together. The video was uploaded on our YouTube channel and is available for viewing at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94hQlnGDR88
The second team was creating a website for Project Comenius, which was slowly getting more and more complete.
The third team was creating a survey which would be handed out to people, so that we would be able to get more people's opinions on the problems we talked about. Students made interviews with teachers who came into Cyprus from different countries. It was interesting to hear their life stories and their opinion on their new life in Cyprus.
In the end, there was a barbecue at The Grammar School, we went to see the city of Pafos, and finally, we said our goodbyes and everyone went back to their homelands. (Perhaps excluding participants from Cyprus, since they were already home.)
